Registration, Settlement and Building Approval

The time has finally come.. Almost a year since we paid a deposit and signed a contract for our block of land it has FINALLY registered with council and settled on Monday 30/3/15. Its funny how that piece of dirt looks sooo much better when it becomes officially yours :)

Building approval came through on Friday 10th April (this took exactly 3 weeks and a day.. which is super fast) with only a slight hiccup.... our setback relaxation of 4.5m was rejected by council... Our certifier had our plans amended to 5m and sent back to council and it was approved all in one afternoon.... super fast which is more than I can say about our CSC who didn't tell us about building approval until days later after I rang her to tell her to tell her the certifier had informed me it had been approved the previous week....So that lost us a couple days unfortunately. Our lovely lady at the bank got our Authority to Commence Construction letter to Clarendon within an hour of being informed of the approval.  Our file was sent to drafting for final plans to be drawn up. Now we play the waiting game again.  Meanwhile in the background our consolidation has been completed (where all variations and colour selection etc are all put into one document) and trades and supplies are being quoted and ordered. We should hopefully be on site (that could mean as little as a porta loo but hey ill take what I can get) within the first couple weeks of May.. .Starting to let myself get excited again.. its been a loooooong wait to get this far. Stay tuned.....
